Like salvation, healing is a choice. But why are not everyone healed? Jesus took notice on this matter too.
Matthew 13:53-58 describes how rejection of Jesus had hindered people receiving healing and miracles from Jesus.
53 When Jesus had finished telling these stories and illustrations, he left that part of the country. 54 He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said, “Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?” 55 Then they scoffed, “He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers—James, Joseph,[a] Simon, and Judas. 56 All his sisters live right here among us. Where did he learn all these things?” 57 And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.
Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” 58 And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.
Healing appeared an attitude matter. These people took deep offense. Taking offense at the healer hindered them. They asked “Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?” 55 Then they scoffed, “He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers… Where did he learn all these things?”
Everywhere in the gospels recorded multitudes and all being brought to Jesus received their healings. Jesus was spectacular. People from all over different towns and villages and regions came to receive from Him. But here we read that He did only a few miracles in Nazareth.
Knowing Jesus heals and is willing to heal, one must choose to come to Him and have faith in Him Just as He commented so many times on those who came to Him. In those days when He was on earth, people came to Him physically. Those who could not, their proxies, such as parent or even a boss (the centurion) or friends came. Today how does one come to Jesus? Same way, by faith in action.
Come in person to a meeting where there are similar people who believe in Jesus’ healing. A parent can come for a minor too. A friend can come for someone if the sick person is too sick to travel.
Coming to Jesus can be done where you are if you believe. Believe He heals sick people just as you believe He saves sinners.
Ask Him for what you want from Him.
Receive just as the multitudes received. Just as the many individuals received in the Bible.
Take no offense.
