Jesus prays : when and why

The four gospels recorded who Jesus is, what He did and why, while He lived on earth as a human. Jesus was focused on His goals. He fulfilled them. One very noticeable statement He made, both in word and in actions, was of His consistent continuing communion with God, His Father in heaven.
Jesus’ overwhelming success in His life on earth: by His constant communion with God, He had the ability to effectively use the authority of the Son of God and the power of the Holy Spirit of God to deal with the enemies of God which infested mankind. He exercised dominion over nature and spirit.
How did He maintain such communion with God?
Success key factor: He prayed. There are many instances recorded.
Here are some verses to read and meditate upon.
Luke 3:21-22; 4:1-4; John 5:19; 8:28; Matthew 14:19; John 11:41-43; Matthew 14:23; Luke 5:15-16; 6:12-13; 22:31-32; John 17 (whole chapter);  Matthew 26:36-46.
