Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?

Love GodHas no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner? In today’s passage Jesus is teaching us what God looks for. God looks for the healed one who loves Him in action and gives glory to Him by a fearless and truthful healed testimony. Jesus has also highlighted a shocking but common fact: out of ten healed, only one took the bother to return to Jesus and openly acknowledged it was God (Jesus) who healed him and give glory to God. “One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done.” Jesus declared that this is an act of faith in God, and the healed man has received more than mere healing. He has received salvation! Faith in God is not hidden. It is open and can be seen by all. The Bible records many of such healed testimonies.

Luke 17:11-19

As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. 12 As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, 13 crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

14 He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.”[b] And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.

15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” 16 He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.” *

Further testimony of the healed: this blogger

Jesus walking_on_waterThis blog is all about healing. Today this blogger ponders on the difference between believing in the unseen by faith and believing only when seeing the physical. I have already posted many helpful links to articles, audio and video teachings on healing. I have also posted testimonies of the healed. I have also seen repeatedly cases of failures in receiving healing and asked the question “why”. I asked the Lord and sought answers from the Bible. I do not have a fit all answer. I can only admit that God is big and great. Without the Holy Spirit’s guidance no one can understand the way of God.

Here are some of my personal observations from today’s reading of 2 Samuel 5:17-25

  1. David asked God every time even when he was confronting the same enemy. He did not presume he knew it all. Past success in a similar battle did not deter him from seeking afresh God’s opinion and direction for the current battle. When the Philistines heard that he was anointed king they came in full force to destroy him. He asked God two questions: “Shall I go and attack them?” “Will You deliver them into my hands?” He first made sure it was the right time, right place, right strategy and that he had the right resources. On a second occasion he asked again and obeyed God’s instruction to fight the battle differently. On both battles he won of course. “So David did as the Lord commanded him, and he struck down the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.”
  2. What has this got to do with healing? This blogger has learned that God’s way of healing is all about hearing God and believing, just as Davie did in this historical example. Like David, ask the Lord. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you and guide you.
  3. Like David, never try to rationalize and give credit to anyone else for your healing. David always remembered and declared and made sure others too believe it was God who helped him. He wrote about it. He sang about it. He named places about it. He said, “As waters break out, the Lord has broken out against my enemies before me. So that place was called Baal Perazim.” (2 Samuel 5:20)

I have seen and heard Christians rationalizing their own or their loved ones’ healing by saying it’s something they eat or do or someone else does or whatever… I am shocked and sad that such spiritual unbelief continues in the hearts of Christians, followers of Jesus Christ. Everything that Jesus did was supernatural. He lived a supernatural life! Yet some Christians no longer think much of the supernatural (spiritual). Because I have personally received my own healing many times over a variety of health matters, I know what unbelief can do to a health condition. Unbelief is a sickness itself. Unless you up-root it you will continue to live with the number one hindrance to healing. How to up-root unbelief especially when it is deeply rooted in the intellect? Jesus has given one solution: by dying to self. ‘Self” lies in the domain of the intellect. Die to self. Live to God. How can one truly die to self?  This blogger’s experience is that one has to encounter and know God as real in the spiritual. Spiritual reality of God is a must. I have been fully convinced and converted by this reality of the spiritual God.

Testimony: The intellect was the number one enemy to receiving healing of my own diseases. When I trusted God without any more reason and excuse I received my personal healing.

Relevant Bible verses:

So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord

But the Egyptians are mere mortals and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, those who help will stumble, those who are helped will fall; all will perish together.

John 16:13 [Full Chapter]

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.

the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,

these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
1 Corinthians 2:13-15 New International Version (NIV)13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.[a] 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,

how this health blogger encountered the manifestation of divine healing

divine healing

This health blogger traveler has traveled more geographically in recent years and encountered more physical and mental needs for healing than any other needs among both the poor and the rich, less-developed and developed, rural and urban societies. Here are my personal sharing of how divines healing from God have manifested.

  1. In all cases there were felt and humbly admitted needs from the persons who received the divine healing. (Isaiah 57:15; Matthew 23:12; James 4:6)
  2. The power of the Holy Spirit manifested and could often be felt by the ones seeking to be healed. (Acts 1:8)
  3. My prayers for their healing consisted three essential parts: belief in the words of God (that by Jesus stripes they were healed), by faith and not by sight (Hebrews 11:1-2, 6), by the power of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 1:7; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Romans 15:19).
  4. I read the relevant words of God (Bible verses) with the ones to be prayed for. I then asked them whether they believed. When they believed and agreed that they needed the power of the Holy Spirit I prayed for the power from above to enable them to receive what the words of God had already declared and they had already believed. (Psalm 107:20; Romans 10:17; Galatians 3:2)
  5. I then spoke to the ‘mountain’ (whatever they suffered from) in the name of Jesus to command it to leave the inflicted person and go. (Matthew 17:20; Mark 11:23; Luke 17:6)
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

[ Many Healed in the Evening ] When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Hebrews 11:1-2, 6
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Why are you amazed at the magnitude of this miracle? Jesus explained.

hardness of heartI used to think people with hard hearts were God-haters or, at the least, people in rebellion to Him. That’s what I used to think until the day the Lord told me I had a hard heart.

While on a flight to a meeting, I was reading about the story of Jesus walking to His disciples on the water, recorded in Mark 6:45-52. They were in a terrible storm. After nine hours they were still only halfway across the Sea of Galilee, normally a two-hour trip. They were in trouble and fighting for their lives. Yet here came Jesus walking on top of the very thing that was trying to kill them. He was totally in control.

This impacted me so much that I put my Bible down and just stared out the window. A solid layer of clouds was beneath the plane. In my imagination, I thought about what it would be like to see Jesus walking on the clouds. That’s not any more impossible than Jesus walking on the water! I was just awestruck as I considered this.

I continued reading in Mark 6:51 and saw that the disciples had a similar reaction. The latter part of that scripture says,

“They were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.”

That’s exactly the way I felt. I thought to myself that anyone who really thought about the magnitude of this miracle should feel the same way. They should be shocked and amazed at the miraculous power of God. Then I read the next verse:

“For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened” (Mark 6:52).

It was just like someone slapped me in the face. For the first time, I realized that being shocked, amazed, or surprised at a miracle was an indication of a hard heart. WOW! Or another way of saying it is, relating to the natural more than the supernatural is an indication of a hard heart. By that definition, my heart was hard.

This set me on a three-and-a-half-year journey seeking the Lord. I wanted to know what a hard heart really was, what caused it, and how to cure it. This has turned out to be one of the most important things the Lord has ever shown me.

The dictionary defines hardened as cold, insensitive, unfeeling, and unyielding. If you’re honest with yourself, you’ll have to agree that there are certain areas of your life where you have a hard heart toward God.

God made us so that we can harden our hearts and literally shut out unwanted influences. It was meant to be a positive thing, but because we haven’t understood this, what God meant for good has actually worked against us.

One of the best examples of hardheartedness is found in the book of Exodus. Pharaoh refused to let the children of Israel leave the land of Egypt as God had commanded. Fifteen times in Exodus, the Scriptures mention Pharaoh’s heart being hardened. This is the only explanation to Pharaoh’s persistence in resisting God, when it was so evident he was no match for Him. A hardened heart dulls a person’s ability to perceive and understand. It is the equivalent of spiritual retardation.

In Mark 8:17, Jesus spoke to His disciples about the characteristics of a hard heart:

“And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened? Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?” (Mark 8:17-18).

In these verses, Jesus gave us symptoms that are descriptive of a hard heart: (1) unable to perceive, (2) unable to understand, (3) unable to see, (4) unable to hear, and (5) unable to remember. These are all speaking of inabilities in the spiritual realm.

A hard heart is characterized by an inability to perceive spiritually. And when spiritual things are perceived, a hard heart will keep a person from understanding the few things they can perceive. They might see what the Lord is trying to show them, but they can’t get a hold of it in a way that they can apply it to their life.

When people are hardhearted toward God, it’s like they are spiritually blind and deaf—they just can’t see spiritual truth or hear the Lord speak to them. And they can’t remember. Not remembering is a major indication of the condition of their hearts.

People often tell me that they just don’t have the ability to remember Scripture the way I do. They imply that I must have a photographic memory. But these same people can tell me who won the Super Bowl last year or last decade, the Major League batting averages of all the famous baseball players, or the names of all the actors in a movie.

I’ve watched Super Bowl games, but I don’t remember the details. It’s not because my mind doesn’t work; it’s just a matter of the heart. I remember Scripture because that’s where my heart is. I don’t remember sports or entertainment trivia, because my heart isn’t into that. It’s all a matter of the heart.

Here are some of the major things I’ve learned that determine the sensitivity of your heart. First, whatever you consider, your heart becomes softened toward. Conversely, whatever you fail to consider, your heart becomes hardened to. That’s what Mark 6:52 reveals.

Again, that verse says,

“For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.”

The word consider means “to study, ponder, deliberate, examine, or think upon.” The scriptural term that would relate to “consider” would be the word “meditate.” Or we could substitute the word “focus” for “consider.” So the disciples’ hearts were hard, since they didn’t “focus” on the miracle of Jesus feeding the 5,000.

It wasn’t sin that caused the disciples’ hearts to be hard—it was their focus on things other than the miracle Jesus had just performed. They weren’t looking at pornographic magazines nor were in strife or anything; they were occupied with trying to save their lives in the midst of the storm. That wasn’t sin.

If you took me sailing, I would want you to have some carnal knowledge about sailing. If I ride with you in a car, I don’t want you to drive by faith; I want you to have your eyes open and your brain working. That’s not wrong.

But, if we get into a situation where our carnal knowledge and abilities won’t save our lives, I would like you to be able to go beyond the natural and draw on the ability of the supernatural. We can’t be limited to the natural realm.

This is what was wrong with the disciples. They had just witnessed Jesus taking five small loaves of bread and two small fish, and feeding an entire multitude of at least

15,000 people. What an awesome miracle! If they had kept their minds stayed on that miracle, they wouldn’t have been shocked or surprised to see Jesus walking on the water.

And notice that Mark 6:45 makes special mention of the fact that Jesus “constrained” His disciples to get into the boat and go to the other side. That means He had to compel them. They didn’t want to go, but Jesus made them do it. Therefore, they didn’t get into this situation because of some mistake on their part; they were under direct orders from the Master. That means Jesus was responsible for what happened to them.

If they had been thinking spiritually instead of naturally, they would have known that Jesus would take care of them. Instead of being surprised to see Jesus walking on the water, they would have expected it.

Likewise, if we were not so dominated by considering the natural, we would not be surprised by the supernatural. We should expect to see the miraculous power of God manifest in our lives all the time. But the truth is, our hearts have become hardened toward God and His supernatural power because of our failure to stay focused on spiritual things.

One of the benefits of understanding what causes hardheartedness is that you can reverse this process and use it to become hardened against the devil. That is absolutely true. You have the power to determine what your heart accepts or rejects.

In my book and teaching album Hardness of Heart,I go into much more detail. For example, you cannot be tempted with something you cannot think. You won’t act in a way that you haven’t already considered in your mind. So, control your thoughts and you’ll control your actions. That’s simple but profound. Most people don’t operate that way.

This letter has only scratched the surface of these truths that the Lord has shown me about how you can soften your heart toward God. You really need to get the entire teaching to reap the full benefit. It’s important because one of the ways to soften your heart toward God is to just sit and soak in the truth. It’s not enough just to hear truth; you need to absorb it. This teaching will really help you do that.

This teaching has been available since the early eighties. It is one of the most important and practical revelations the Lord has ever shown me. But recently, I taught this on television and have expanded it from a three-part to a four-part series. I encourage you to order this updated teaching for yourself and one to share with another.

(Hardness of Heart: A Condition You May Have and Not Even Know it…By Andrew Wommack)

The Hardness of Heart series deals with the crisis, the cause and the cure for a hardened heart. A hard heart is simply a heart that is more sensitive to other things than to God. It is caused by what we focus our attention on, and it dictates the level of unbelief in our lives.

Managing anger and emotions (resources)

We have seen many patients who suffer the symptoms to physical and mental (including emotional) illnesses with the root traced back to uncontrollable anger (and other emotions) and prolonged inability in coping with the related stress. Today this blogger is led to share this teaching by Andrew Wommack. I take the liberty to share the the links for audio download.  We all need this teaching. Let’s listen together and be rid of the lies and deceptions that have hurt many of us for so long. By now many are aware that substance (alcohol, drugs, many forms of addictions including excessive food, other forms of excessive and immoral sensual gratifications, anything that hurt and harm your own conscience, that some have resorted and to which are bound in bondage) abuses can only bring further damages in your bodies and your souls. Please listen and be healed from uncontrollable anger (rage) and unharnessed emotions. One very good related teaching is Andrew Wommack’s teaching on Spirit, Soul and Body too.

Anger Management by Andrew Wommack
Every person deals with anger. There is no escaping it. But are we dealing with our anger the way God’s Word instructs us to? There is a type of anger that is godly, but even the more common, ungodly anger is very misunderstood. It’s not people and circumstances that make us angry. In this teaching, Andrew shares truths from God’s Word on the subject of anger that are as rare as gold. An ungodly anger is the social norm today. Psychology’s diagnosis of the cause and treatment for anger is totally off-base. God’s Word tells us all we need to know to manage our anger in a godly way.

Harnessing Your Emotions by Andrew Wommack

We all have emotions, but do they rule us or do we rule them? Psychologists and Christians alike agree that actions are the result of inner thoughts and feelings, emotions. But that is where the agreement ends. The Word says that sin is conceived in our emotions. If that is true, then the Word must also give us a way to harness our emotions. Andrew’s teaching will present you with a new perspective on emotions.

Anger Management (original article by By Andrew Wommack)Have you ever been mad at God? Certainly, everyone has had anger rise up against a person. And there are a lot of people who are angry with themselves. Anger is a problem all of us have to deal with.

Many people come from backgrounds where strife was just normal. Our culture is so full of envy and strife that it’s become part of life. We don’t realize how deadly it is. But realize it or not, strife will kill you. Listen to what James had to say about envy and strife:

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” (James 3:16)

Think about what this verse is saying for a moment. Envy and strife bring EVERY evil work. That is quite a revelation! You could be giving tithes and offerings and trusting God in the area of your finances, but if you’re living in strife, you are opening the door to poverty. You could be trying to take care of your body and meditating on healing scriptures, yet envy and strife will negate all of that and bring sickness and disease. No one who is trusting God for victory in any area of their life can ignore dealing with anger and expect to succeed. It’s that important.

This doesn’t mean we are supposed to be emotionless or totally passive people. There is a proper use of anger. If we don’t understand this and try to completely do away with anger, we will not succeed, and we will become passive in a way that allows Satan to run over us. There is a godly purpose for anger.

GODLY ANGER

Think of this: Every person on the planet has a temper. Why do you think that is? Do you think the devil created anger? No way! Satan never created anything. He doesn’t have the power to create. All he does is pervert the godly things God created.

It’s God who gave us the capacity to get angry. Anger has a godly function. But with most of us, it’s been perverted. We don’t need to get delivered of a temper; we need to learn how to manage that anger and direct it the way God intended — not toward people, but toward the devil and evil.

There is a well-known passage of Scripture that talks about a positive use of anger. Yet this passage is most often interpreted in a way that loses the true intent of what Paul was saying. Ephesians 4:26-27 says,

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil”.

This is usually interpreted as, “God knows you are only human, and you will sometimes get angry. That just happens. But it doesn’t become sin unless you let it persist. So make sure you confess and forsake your anger every night before you go to bed.”

There is no doubt that getting over anger quickly has great benefit. Confessing and forsaking anger before you go to bed every night is a good thing to do. But that is not what this verse is teaching. It’s nearly the opposite.

Paul is saying there is a godly anger that is not sin. God gives us a command to get angry with a righteous anger. Then he says, “Let not the sun go down on your wrath”. What happens when the sun goes down? Typically we stop working. The day winds down, and we rest and go to sleep. Paul is saying, “Don’t let this godly anger ever stop working. Keep it awake. Stir it up and keep it active!” Then verse 27 continues, “Neither give place to the devil”. If we don’t keep a godly anger active within us, we are giving place to the devil. What a revelation!

There is a righteous use of anger. Not understanding this has rendered many Christians so passive, they don’t get mad at the evil in this world. Therefore, Satan is having a free shot at everything we hold dear and holy. Our society is under attack, and our righteous anger that God has given us as a weapon is kept in its sheath and not used. This needs to change.

Look at what the Word of God has to say about a right use of anger:

“Ye that love the LORD, hate evil”. (Psalm 97:10)

“The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate”. (Prov. 8:13)

“The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom”. (Psalm 111:10)

“The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge”. (Prov. 1:7)

“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good”. (Rom. 12:9)

These are just a few of the scriptures that speak of a righteous use of hate and anger. Look again at Proverbs 8:13: “Pride and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward [literally, perverse] mouth, do I hate”. Do we really hate those things? We should, but Christians as a whole do not hate evil. We don’t like evil, but few would argue that we literally hate these things. Some Christians don’t believe that we are supposed to hate anything, but that’s not what God’s Word says.

Jesus was sinless, but He had hate and anger. In John 2:14-17, which took place at the beginning of Jesus’ earthly ministry, and then in Mark 11:15-17, which took place the last week of Jesus’ earthly ministry, Jesus drove the money changers out of the temple. He didn’t approach them meekly and say, “Guys, I’m sorry. I don’t want to hurt any of you, but I have to do this to obey my Father.” NO! He made a whip and beat the people and animals and turned over their tables. He was mad.

Where were the temple guards? I’m sure they were there, but Jesus was in a holy rage that paralyzed them from action. It’s certain that Jesus never sinned, but it’s also certain that He got very angry to the point of action. Therefore, there is a righteous anger. We need to discover the righteous use of anger and channel all of our aggression in the proper way. So, there is a right place for anger. But what about the wrong use of anger? All of us have to deal with getting mad at people. How do we overcome our unforgiveness and anger toward people?

UNGODLY ANGER

Have you ever prayed that the Lord would remove someone from your life who makes you angry? Have you ever prayed that your circumstances would change so that you would be delivered from those things that make you mad? If you have, you are not alone. But it’s not what others do to you that makes you angry. You will never be able to remove all aggravating things and people from your path. That’s unrealistic. Satan has more than enough people under his control to keep an endless parade of annoying people coming across your path.

You can’t always change circumstances, and you don’t have the authority to change others. But you can change what’s on the inside of you that makes you angry. That’s right. Our anger comes from the inside, not the outside. I know most people don’t like that. At first, it’s comforting to think that it’s what someone else did that made you angry, but that’s not true. If what other people do makes you angry, then you will always be angry because there will always be someone that treats you wrong. That makes you a victim and not a victor.

Accepting responsibility for your ungodly anger puts you in the driver’s seat. You only have total authority over yourself. You are the only one that you can really change. If you are trying to remove all the people and things that make you mad from your path, you will never win. But if you deal with the things inside you that cause your anger, you will never lose, regardless of what others do. That’s the example that Jesus gave us. He was able to look at the very ones who crucified and mocked Him and say,

“Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”. (Luke 23:34)

Jesus not only suffered more than any of us ever have, He suffered more unjustly than we have. As God, He could have come off the cross at any time and wiped all of His accusers out. Yet He humbled Himself and even forgave His enemies. Some people think, “Well that was Jesus. I’m certainly not Jesus.” But Jesus wasn’t the only one who forgave those who wronged him. Stephen acted just like Jesus in Acts 7:60. As he was being stoned to death, he knelt down and cried with a loud voice,

“Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep”.

Paul commanded us to do the same thing in Ephesians 4:32:

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you”.

Not only are we supposed to resist anger, but we are commanded to forgive those who trespass against us. We can’t control others, but we can control what’s inside of us that makes us angry. The key is found in Proverbs 13:10:

“Only by pride cometh contention”.

It’s not what others do to us that makes us angry; it’s the pride inside of us that causes us to get mad. I know that’s not what most people believe, but that’s what God’s Word says. This verse doesn’t say that pride is one of the major reasons for anger — it’s the only reason. What a statement!

I ministered this in Pueblo, Colorado, many years ago, and a man came up to me after the meeting and said, “I’ve got a lot of problems, but pride isn’t one of them. If anything, I have such low self-esteem that I hate myself. Yet I have a lot of anger. I just don’t understand how my pride is the source of my anger.” What this man was missing was a proper definition of pride.

Many people think of pride only as arrogance. But that’s only one manifestation of pride. Timidity and shyness are extreme manifestations of pride. Pride, at it’s core, is simply self-centeredness or selfishness.Timid and shy people are extremely self-centered people. I know this to be true because I was an introvert. I couldn’t look at people in the face and talk to them. I was so consumed with me that I was always thinking, “What are they going to think of me? Am I going to make a mistake and look foolish?” That self-centeredness made me shy.

If you have a testimony about what the Lord has done for you that could help someone, yet you would be timid about getting on radio or television and sharing it because everyone would be looking at you, then you have some pride issues that haven’t been settled. You may not be called to broadcast on radio or television the way I am, but we are all called to, “be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” (1 Pet. 3:15)

So, pride is not only thinking we are better than others; pride can be thinking we are worse than others or just being self-conscious. It doesn’t matter if self is always exalting itself or if it’s debasing itself. It’s all self-centeredness, which is pride. Like it or not, understand it or not, pride is the source of all of our anger. As we deal with our own self-love, anger toward others will be defused. The only reason we are so easily offended is because we love ourselves so much. As we die to ourselves, we will be able to love others the way that Jesus did.

I have a lot more to share on this than what I was able to put into this article. I have a teaching entitled Anger Management. This is a three-part album that deals with truths I’ve never heard anyone else teach. I’m sure others teach this, but it’s certainly not common. The first teaching, entitled “Godly Anger,” will show you the proper use of anger. This is necessary in resisting Satan and his evil. The second teaching, entitled “Ungodly Anger’s Source,” will explain how self-love is the root of all of our ungodly anger. This is a must for anyone who struggles with a temper (all of us). The third teaching is entitled “Anger Toward God, Others, and Self.”

Harnessing Your Emotions (original article by By Andrew Wommack)

The Bible teaches us that our thoughts are the determining factor which controls our actions. Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Romans 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Notice that carnal mindedness doesn’t just tend toward death — it is death!

No one can consistently perform differently than the way they think; therefore, we cannot change our actions without changing our thinking. It’s not just what we think about that needs changing, but we must change our thinking process. Our emotions are linked directly to how we think.

All people have a perception, or image, on the inside of them of what they are like. This image is not necessarily based on facts but on feelings. One negative experience can distort a person’s perception of themself for a lifetime.

For instance, some people who are beautiful may think of themselves as ugly or undesirable because of unkind words spoken to them as a child. Some who achieve great success still see themselves as failures, which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

To a degree, psychology has correctly diagnosed this problem. Psychologists use terminology such as “self-esteem” or “identity” in relating these truths; however, today’s secular wisdom is totally inadequate to help a person change the inner self image.

First, most people shift the blame for bad self-esteem, or self-image, to someone else. It has become popular to blame others for every negative thing in our lives. People often say, “I came from a dysfunctional family,” “My problems came because I’m part of a minority group,” “It’s that woman you gave me” (Gen. 3:12). Other people are not our problem!

All of us have had negative experiences. The choice is ours whether we become bitter or better as a result of them. For every person who can claim some dysfunctional behavior because of a traumatic experience in their life, there are others who have had similar or worse things happen to them, yet they overcame their circumstances. Why? Because problems do not dictate failure; we have a choice.

Deuteronomy 30:19 says, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” God Almighty gave us a choice. God doesn’t make the choice for us, and Satan can’t make it for us. We have the privilege and responsibility to choose blessing or cursing.

Placing the blame on others is denying the real problem, and it will prevent finding a solution. If other people are my problem, I’m in trouble because God did not give me the ability to control other people. The devil will always send someone across my path who knows how to hit my hot button.

If the problem is within me, then there is hope because through Christ, I can change. This is freedom. Regardless of what others do, I can prosper through Christ.

After psychology tries to place the blame for your problems on someone else, they try to bolster your self-esteem by having you focus on the positive things in your self and minimize the negative attributes. That’s not what the Bible teaches. Jesus said, “For without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).

“Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Mark 8:34). Paul said, “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are” (1 Cor. 1:27-28).

The Bible teaches that there must be an end to self-esteem before true service can begin. Christians should not try and store up the feeble positive attributes of their personalities. That is like trying to stop the bleeding from an amputated arm with a Band-Aid; it won’t work for long.

Regardless of how successful or talented we are in ourselves, we will eventually fail. If nothing else, we will get older someday and will not be as productive as before. If our self-esteem is rooted in our accomplishments, then it will ultimately fail. All the security we have found in ourselves will then come crashing down around us.

The Christian should have Christ-esteem. Just like the Apostle Paul said, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Gal. 2:20).

The secret to victorious Christian living is not found in self-improvement but in self-denial so that Christ can live through us.

This does not mean that God wants us to have a bad self-image. It just depends upon which self we are talking about. You see, every born-again believer has become a new person in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17). (Eph. 4:22-24).

The old man is corrupt and, at his best, is incapable of living the Christian life. This is the self that most people try to patch up and feel good about. Give it up! We have to die to this old self life with all its good and bad, and find a new identity in Christ.

The new man is exactly as Jesus is (1 Cor. 6:17)! That’s right. We are a totally brand-new person in Christ. We have everything that Jesus has, in our spirits (1 John 4:17). We have a totally new identity in Christ. Why then would we want to fix up our old selves instead of just living in our new selves?

If we let the new man dominate us, we’ll walk in power and victory in every area of our lives.

How can you tell if your thoughts and emotions are coming from the new, born-again self or the old carnal self? God’s Word is the key. Jesus says in John 6:63, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Any thought or emotion that agrees with what God’s Word says about you is from your new man. Any thought or emotion that violates God’s Word is from your old man or the devil.

If you are angry at someone, you’re in the flesh (old man). Just repent and get back in the spirit (new man) where you have love, joy, and peace (Gal. 5:22). If you are afraid, you’re in the flesh, “for God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7). Instead of going to God and asking Him to remove the fear, just step out of the flesh and into the spirit where there is no fear (1 John 4:18).

This is so simple you have to have someone help you misunderstand it. The problem is that we have had a lot of help misunderstanding these simple, biblical truths, but we have a solution.

harnessing emotionsSummary:
Sin is Emotional
This teaching reveals that positive emotions are not optional. God commands us to take control of our emotions. In fact, sin is conceived in our emotions. A person who doesn’t master their emotions is a person who cannot overcome sin.
Self-Esteem
Emotions are a result of how we think. A person who has low self-esteem is going to be depressed. But how does this square with the statements of God’s Word about denying ourselves and becoming nothing in our own sight before God can use us? The answer lies in Christ-esteem, not self-esteem. Our born-again self is the only part of us that we need to esteem. Anything less is destined to fail.
Identity in Christ
We need to analyze and then identify with the new self that we have become in Christ. This teaching will give you a look at who you are in Christ that very few Christians have seen. This is life-changing and one of the major keys to a victorious life in Christ.

Andrew’s Book – Spirit, Soul & Body
This book contains the foundational revelation to everything Andrew teaches. It’s a must-read for every believer.

Book Description

Have you ever asked yourself what changed when you were “born again”? You look in the mirror and see the same reflection – your body hasn’t changed. You find yourself acting the same and yielding to those same old temptations – that didn’t seem to change either. So you wonder, Has anything really changed?

The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. If you lack this basic understanding, you’ll forever ask yourself doubt-filled questions like: “How could God love somebody like me?” and “How can I possibly expect to receive anything from the Lord? I don’t deserve it, I’m not good enough!”

Spirit, Soul & Body will help you to eliminate those and other doubt-filled questions that destroy your faith. If you have trouble receiving from God, this is a must-read!

What Jesus teaches about the Kingdom of God and Healing

special healing schoolWhen Jesus came to earth He preached the Gospel of the kingdom of God which included healing the sick. The Kingdom of God is about the Gospel and its application on earth as in heaven. It comes together with healing.

Here are some of the Bible verses that tell us what Jesus did:

[ Jesus Heals a Great Multitude ] And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
[ The Compassion of Jesus ] Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.

Matthew 6:10 New King James Version (NKJV) 10 Your kingdom come.Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.

And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God.

Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Jesus teaches what causes sickness

Demon Possessed ManSickness has been a major concern in the history of mankind. Here is a common scene in Biblical time. Lots of people bring their sick relatives and friends for healing by Jesus.

Even today many seek healing everywhere. This passage in Mark chapter six is followed by a teaching by Jesus in chapter seven. Let us meditate on what Jesus teaches about what causes sickness in the first place. Some today would have thought eating the right food is most essential. But Jesus says sickness actually comes from within a person.

Mark 6:53-56 New Living Translation (NLT)

53 After they had crossed the lake, they landed at Gennesaret. They brought the boat to shore 54 and climbed out. The people recognized Jesus at once, 55 and they ran throughout the whole area, carrying sick people on mats to wherever they heard he was. 56 Wherever he went—in villages, cities, or the countryside—they brought the sick out to the marketplaces. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.

Mark 7 New Living Translation (NLT) Jesus Teaches about Inner Purity

1 One day some Pharisees and teachers of religious law arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus. They noticed that some of his disciples failed to follow the Jewish ritual of hand washing before eating…

14 Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “All of you listen,” he said, “and try to understand. 15 It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.[h]

17 Then Jesus went into a house to get away from the crowd, and his disciples asked him what he meant by the parable he had just used. 18 “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? 19 Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)

20 And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. 21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. 23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”

God Wants You Well: What the Bible Really Says About Walking in Divine Health Paperback – July 9, 2010 by Andrew Wommack

https://citizenheaven.wordpress.com/healing-is-already-an-accomplished-work/ (read here)

god-wants-you-well-what-bible-really-says

http://www.amazon.com/God-Wants-You-Well-Walking/dp/160683004X/ref=as_sl_pc_tf_mfw?&linkCode=wey&tag=basrij-20

Health is something everyone wants. Billions of dollars are spent each year trying to retain or restore health. It is a basic desire of all mankind. Anyone who likes sickness must be mentally sick! Yet, religion has told us that God is the one who wants us sick. It even tries to make us believe that sickness is a blessing. That’s just not true. God wants you well.

Healing is in Christ’s Atonement. Jesus died for our health just as much as He died for the forgiveness of our sins. This has to be the foundation of our faith for healing. Many Scriptures relate the healing of our bodies and the forgiveness of our sins in the same verse. Jesus went about healing all who were oppressed of the devil and told us to do the same. Jesus hasn’t changed, it’s the people who represent Him who have changed.

What about Paul’s thorn in the flesh? It is commonly believed that the apostle Paul had a sickness for which he besought the Lord for healing three times, and the Lord wouldn’t heal him. From that assumption, people teach that God sometimes wants us sick. In this book, Andrew reveals what Paul’s thorn in the flesh was, and it wasn’t sickness.

If it is God’s will to heal everyone, then why isn’t everyone healed? It’s not because of God. And it’s not just because we don’t have enough faith. We do have the faith to be healed. Jesus said the problem is our unbelief – unbelief cancels out faith. Instead of trying to get more faith or bigger faith, we just need a pure faith that isn’t negated by unbelief.

There are laws that govern the spiritual world just as there are laws that govern the physical realm. Electricity has been around since the beginning of the world, but mankind didn’t benefit from electricity until recently, not because it didn’t work, but because of our ignorance of the laws of electricity. Likewise, God’s healing is here and available. It’s only our ignorance of the laws which control the flow of God’s power that keeps us from benefiting from it.

John G. Lake: His Life, His Sermons, His Boldness of Faith Paperback – February 12, 2013 by John G. Lake by John G. Lake, Kenneth Copeland

http://www.amazon.com/John-G-Lake-Sermons-Boldness/dp/0881149624/ref=as_sl_pc_tf_mfw?&linkCode=wey&tag=basrij-20

For centuries, Christians have marveled at the reality of God s healing power and divine miracles wrought through the hands of men and women who have dedicated their lives to Him. From the early Church to the twentieth century, people have flocked to these ministers in a desperate search for healing and understanding of the power of God. One such minister, known for his great boldness, was John G. Lake. He brought an air of intrigue, faith, and encouragement to hundreds of thousands of believers in the United States and abroad.

Born in 1870 in Ontario, Canada, John G. Lake fought hard to survive a sorrowful childhood and make a material success of his life. Then, at the age of 37, he gave up all he had some report he gave up millions to seek God s divine purpose in his life. Within a year, Lake and his family ventured to Africa, bringing a storm of God’s supernatural healing power. After five years, he left the African ministry he began, leaving a heritage of more than 1,000 preachers, 100,000 converts and countless miracles.

He then returned to the state of Washington with a stronger faith in Christ and mightier anointing of God’s healing power. Shortly thereafter, Lake’s Divine Healing Institute made Spokane, Washington as documented by the United States Government …the healthiest city in the world… This book, which tells Lake’ s life story through an authorized biography and his sermons, show you perhaps more than any other how bold faith like John G. Lake’s can come alive in any believer who will receive.

Included in this unabridged and unaltered volume: -44 classic and timeless sermons of John G. Lake, 27 never before published -John G. Lake’s stirring, fully authorized biography -Powerful poems given to John G. Lake by the Holy Spirit -Original radio sermons by John G. Lake -Many historical photos -Foreword by Gloria Copeland

JESUS HEALS: read the facts

We all have faith to receive healing. But some may not know how to exercise our faith receive. The more we know Jesus heals, the more we are able to use our faith to receive the healing Jesus has already done and given to us by bearing our sicknesses (through the stripes He had received prior to be crucified). Let us therefore read from the Gospel of Luke, about some aspects of His healing ministry while He was on earth. The Bible has declared, Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. His willingness to give us His healing has never changed. He heals.

The Holy Spirit is fully involved in healing.

 Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

Jesus heals instantly; in any place. In this case He heals in a private house.

 Luke 4:38

[ Peter’s Mother-in-Law Healed ] Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her.

He heals all and everyone brought to Him; he heals various diseases, anytime.

 Luke 4:40

[ Many Healed After Sabbath Sunset ] When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.

He heals great number of people who heard about Him, came personally to hear Him, and then to be healed by Him.

 Luke 5:15

However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.

Jesus heals those who came with faith, to hear His teaching, and believe He has power to forgive sins and heal as well. The Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting by but they did not receive any healing because they did not believe Him.

Luke 5:17-25 [ Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralytic ]

Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, … And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. 18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him… 20 When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”… 24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 25 Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

Jesus heals on any human date. He declared that healing is doing good and is above any law. He openly healed the sick in a public religious place.

 Luke 6:6-7

[ Healing on the Sabbath ] Now it happened on another Sabbath, also, that He entered the synagogue and taught. And a man was there whose right hand was withered. So the scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him. ..Then Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one thing: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy?”[b] 10 And when He had looked around at them all, He said to the man,[c] “Stretch out your hand.” And he did so, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.[d]

Jesus heals all: all who had need of healing, who came to hear Him and be healed of diseases and be set free from demonic torments. He healed with power that came out of Him. His power was evident to all.

 Luke 6:17-19

[ Jesus Heals a Great Multitude ] And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people …who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

Luke 9:11

But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.

Jesus does not favor any particular group of people, any race or nationality, any social class, any gender, any age.

Here are some examples of Him healing various individuals and His remarks on some:

Jesus commended on the faith of a Roman centurion for healing for his servant.

 Luke 7:3=10

So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant…Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed…When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” 10 And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick.[a]

A woman healed of seven demons and later became one of the women disciples who followed Jesus in His ministry.

Luke 8:2-3 and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demon, …and many others who provided for Him[a] from their substance.

A man possessed by a legion of demons was healed and wanted to follow Jesus and be His disciple. But Jesus sent him to witness to his own home base (ten cities).

Luke 8:26-36

[ A Demon-Possessed Man Healed ] Then they sailed to the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee…They also who had seen it told them by what means he who had been demon-possessed was healed.

A dead girl was healed because her father believed and went to Jesus and invited Him to come to his house.

Luke 8:40 [ A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed ] So it was, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him. …52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But He put them all outside,[l] took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” 55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat.

Jesus took note of a woman’s faith and courage and she was healed and made wgole completely.

Luke 8:43-48

Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any…Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. …48 And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer;[h] your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

Jesus sent His disciples to heal too.

 Luke 9:2-6

He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick…So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

A case worth mentioning. A boy was healed. Jesus highlighted several issues: healing is the norm, not the exceptional; the need for faith; how to deal with the seemingly fierce demon (just command it and cast it out). He also brought out one significant reason for the inability of the disciples to heal: their unbelief despite having seen Jesus performing so many healings, and having used the power of Jesus to heal when sent out by Jesus. He later advised them that they could deal with their on unbelief by fasting and praying.

 Luke 9:37-42

37 Now it happened on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, that a great multitude met Him. 38 Suddenly a man from the multitude cried out, saying, “Teacher, I implore You, look on my son, for he is my only child. 39 And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out; it convulses him so that he foams at the mouth; and it departs from him with great difficulty, bruising him. 40 So I implored Your disciples to cast it out, but they could not.”

41 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.” 42 And as he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father.

Another case worth mentioning: Ten lepers were cleansed. Only one was healed because he had faith in Jesus. He saw he was healed and came back to Jesus and gave testimony and glory to God.

Luke 17:12 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” 15 And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,… 17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

Jesus still heals. He never stopped. He healed his enemy’s servant even in the midst of Jesus’ own arrest with intent to kill Jesus eventually. What a Savior! What a Healer! Jesus.

Luke 22:51 But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And He touched his ear and healed him.

testimony : A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed

Wherever Jesus goes, there is healing and restoration of life. He spoke and lived Good News. His life is the Good News. he never changes. today he is still the good news for everyone who believes!

A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed

21 Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea. 22 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet 23 and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.” 24 So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.

25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”

31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’

32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

35 While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”

36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” 37 And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. 38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. 39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”

40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” 42 Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. 43 But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.  (Mark 5)

John 10:10 New King James Version (NKJV)

10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 14:22-24 New King James Version (NKJV)

22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

Jesus the healer1 Peter 2:24 New Living Translation (NLT)

24 He personally carried our sins
in his body on the cross
so that we can be dead to sin
and live for what is right.
By his wounds
    you are healed.

Christmas present from heaven: be saved! Be healed!

One Biblical way of celebrating this season is to read the whole Bible in one continuous sitting, from beginning to the end. Jesus said, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Reading the whole Bible together as a church (a group of Christians taking turn) would take about 72 hours depending on the language proficiency of those who read. While waiting for their turns the participants can sit around or rest anywhere within hearing distance. Be awed by the presence of the spiritual God. The Word is God. The Word became man as Jesus. Be transformed while you abide in Him and His words abide in you during this season of waiting upon the Lord as the ultimate celebration of Jesus’ birth. Let the Holy Spirit breathe life on you.

For those who gather together as one family or a few families (as in house church), you may choose to read the New testament only. It will take about 17-19 hours in one sitting. The result will be great for each participant. This is the best present you can receive from your heavenly Father! This blogger has done this on my own and it took me about a week, resting in between reading. Something broke through.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.   John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.  Romans 16:20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. 1 Peter 2:24  who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.   John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
First verse of the Bible: Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Last 2 verses of the Bible: Revelation 22:20-21 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

______________Luke 24:44-49 (highlight added by this watchman)

44 Then he said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. 46 And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. 47 It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ 48 You are witnesses of all these things.

49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.”

Amen. bible_study_candlelight

God wants you well: a prayer for healing

Jesus the healer
Jesus the healer

Prayer for Healing (quoted)

From Healing the Sick by T.L. Osborn, Chapter 42, pages 235-238:

Once you have accepted Christ as Savior, you are a child of God and have the right to the fulfillment of any and all of God’s promises.

If you need healing, you may pray right now and be healed in the same way in which you have been saved.

Now that you realize where sickness came from and that it is not the will of your loving, heavenly Father that you suffer, it is time to approach Him in humility and in faith.

Jesus said, These signs shall follow them that believe, in my name they shall cast out devils; …they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover  (Mark 16:17-18).

     Remember that He invites you:

Call unto me, and I will answer you.                                     Jeremiah 33:3 Ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.          John 16:24

For every one that asks receives.                                                Matthew 7:8

The reason you can call on the Lord right now and be healed of your physical infirmities and diseases is that Jesus Christ Himself suffered all of them for you.  He did it willingly, as your substitute, so that you could be healed of them.

He took upon Himself all the physical consequences of your sinful nature so that He could come into your life as your PHYSICAL HEALER and as your spiritual Savior.

So right now, pray this prayer:

HEAVENLY FATHER, I thank You that You have made known to me Your salvation and healing plan.  I thank You that Christ has redeemed me from sickness, being made sick for me, and that by His stripes I was healed.

I am so thankful that I no more need to bear my own sickness than I need to bear my sins, because You have revealed Christ to me.

Before I understood that sickness and disease, suffering and pain resulted from that first sin and rebellion of Adam and Eve, I presumed that there was no escape from the ever-present threat of physical disease in my life.

I knew that in spite of the wonders of modern medical science, our world is still full of sickness, suffering and crippling diseases.

I AM SO GLAD to know the truth; that Satan is to blame for my sickness, and that I have covenant rights and authority over all devils and diseases.

I marvel that You did not leave humanity in bondage to Satan.  After I had rebelled against You and violated Your laws of life, I deserved to die.  Oh, what love You manifested toward me in sending Your Son as the sacrifice for my sins.  (Rom. 3:24-25.)

Why did You love me so much?  There was nothing in my nature that merited Your favor.  Thank You for Your infinite love for me, when I was not worthy of Your love.

Sin had taken its awful toll in my life so that my physical body was totally vulnerable to every kind of disease and sickness conceived by the devil to torture me and to destroy my usefulness.

NOW I UNDERSTAND that Jesus not only suffered the full punishment for all my sins, but He also bore all the consequences of my sinful nature.

Now I know that He, of a certainty, took upon Himself all of my diseases and suffered all my pains — my PHYSICAL diseases and pains — so that I could be completely healed.

His physical body was tortured.  He was beaten beyond recognition.  His visage was so marred more than any other man (Is. 52:14).  His back was striped.  When they beat Him, they plowed his back: they made long their furrows (Ps. 129:3).  He was bruised and torn. (Is. 53:5.)  Now I know that all my sicknesses were laid on Him.  He suffered them for me so that I could be free.

I understand that all sickness as well as sin has the same evil source — Satan, the deceiver.  I turn away from him with total resolution, and I welcome the presence and peace, life and health of my Lord into my life.

NOW, FATHER, I come according to Your word, knowing that You always make Your word good and fulfill Your promises.  You said:  I am the Lord that heals you.

Thank You for the fact that when I believe the good news of what Jesus did on my behalf, and when I receive Him into my heart, Satan has no more place in my life.  That is why You said: Behold,  I give you power over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).  You gave me power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. (Luke 9:1.)  You promised that as a believer of the gospel, I can, in Your name, cast out devils; I can lay my hands on the sick and they shall recover. (Mark 16:18.)

I do now take You at Your word.  I rebuke the enemy which has caused my suffering.  I resist this oppression of the devil. (Acts 10:38.)

In the name of Jesus Christ, I command the sickness, which is a spirit of infirmity, to leave, and every symptom to be destroyed in the name of Jesus who is present now.

FATHER, I thank You that You have heard my prayer and have granted the answer.

You bore my sins and my diseases.  Now I am free of them.  When You suffered my sicknesses, by your stripes I was healed (Is. 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24).

The grace and life of Jesus Christ which now live in me, heal me of all sin disease.  I am saved.  I am healed.  I am free.

I now understand that Satan has lost all dominion over me.  Therefore, no sin can condemn me, and no sickness has the right to live in my body which has now become the temple of the Holy Spirit.

I claim the promise of healing for my body now, by faith in Your word; and I thank You that the very source of my sickness is destroyed and that, according to Jesus’ promise, I shall recover.

In Jesus Christ’s name, I have prayed.

OH, JESUS, YOU ARE LORD.  Your life is mine.  Your health is mine.  I saved and I am healed.  Every symptom of my old life, my old sins and mistakes, my old pains and sicknesses must now disappear, because the life and power of Christ are healing and making me whole NOW.

From today, I shall walk in Your new life and health, because You are my life, my all.  You are with me and in me NOW.

     Thank You, Lord. AMEN.

 * * *

Now you have prayed and rebuked the source of your trouble.  You accept, by faith in God’s word, that He has answered your prayer.  Now, hold fast the profession of (your) faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised (Heb. 10:23).

Allow the devil to hear nothing spoken from your lips other than the confession of God’s word.  Allow yourself to think nothing contrary to what God has promised in His word.

Remember that your faith can never rise higher than your words.  The promises of God become real and living only as we confess them.  To enjoy the Christian life, you must learn the value of God’s word on your lips.

You cannot talk contrary to God’s word and win His blessings.

Your words are your standard of faith.  They express what you really believe.

Anything other than You shall recover (Mark 16:18) is a lie from the devil.  Treat it as such and stand on God’s word, for God will make it good in you.

Do as Abraham did:  Be strong in faith by looking to the promise.

Keep the word before your eyes.  Look at the promises continually.

Never consider symptoms that contradict the word as grounds for doubting the word of God because it is written:  I will watch over my word to perform it  (Jer. 1:12; Ezek. 12:25,28; Is. 38:7; Rom. 4:21).
