Living a Life of Fire and Faith quotes

I am led today to share some quotes from an evangelist of our time. Recently I have been interceding using the word “fire”. Today I suddenly thought of this evangelist’s autobiography, but I forgot its title. After I searched the internet I found that it’s aptly called, “Living a Life of Fire: An Autobiography” by Reinhard Bonnke. Indeed, it’s a time to call down supernatural fire. Many are suffering, oppressed, persecuted and lost. Some are forever lost without Jesus. Is this a time to build our own bigger and more luxurious houses with fancier ceilings? Good reminder from the old prophet Haggai. What is your call? That is the crux of the matter.

“It is said that resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for your enemy to die. There is no room for such a waste of energy in the service of God.”

“You have faith stories, too. No matter how small, remember them, recite them, count them, and celebrate them. They build your faith for what is coming next in your life.”

“When people decide not to take risks, this is why. They fear they might suffer unexpected consequences. And, as my ulcers and depression proved, the risk is real. But is that reason to hang onto the past? To cling to mediocrity? No. Doing that is the first step along the path of seeing a living faith become a dead one. The old place, the old building, the old method, the old success, is comforting. The new step is frightening. We must place our trust completely in God to move beyond these comfort zones in life.”

“Divine healings were signs and wonders to confirm the preaching of the gospel. He took the sick man by the hand and commanded that”

“When you pull up roots in order to fulfill a divine destiny, there is not a sense of pain or loss. Rather, there is a great expectation for things to come.”

“The need is not the call. This piece of wisdom has saved the lives of many a missionary, especially in Africa, where the needs are so great that they can pull you to pieces. A missionary can put out so many fires trying to meet needs around him that he suffers burnout. I have known missionary friends who said, “I hear the cry of lost souls calling me into the mission field.” These workers are headed for the missionary bone yard. They have responded to the call of the need rather than the call of God. We must go where God sends us, speak what He gives us to speak, hear His voice and obey it – this is our best protection from burnout. It will also guide us to the very best strategy for accomplishing His mission. For everything a man does to follow the call of God, there are ten things he does not do. We cannot do everything. We must focus on the call and not simply the needs.”

Faith: The Link with God’s Power by Reinhard Bonnke

“We do not first acquire the faith that we bring to Scripture. Scripture encourages faith. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).”

“Commitment Now, nobody can have unity on his or her own. You cannot be married on your own. There is no such thing as an independent believer. You cannot have unity by belonging nowhere.”

“Jesus did not call them—or you and me—to ditch their smiles and to wear sackcloth. His mission was not to turn people into “stick-in-the-muds.” Jesus Himself was not very conventional! The disciples caught His infectious spirit, one that would challenge the stuffy establishment. He showed them new things, especially faith and love, by which, they would conquer the world.”

“God the Deliverer The primary truth about God is that He is the Deliverer, the Emancipator, and the Savior. He is God only to the free. Faith is a venture that turns life into an adventure.”

“The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of unity. He is the bonding element. This bonding is a wonderful effect of faith in Christ. It is creative. It brings about a new kind of oneness not even known in the closest of earthly families.”

“Faith…needs to be matched with action. Belief is not just brain cells in motion. It demands a response. Do we do what we believe? If we believe in a seed, we plant it.”

The following write-up is quoted from : http://www.cfan.org.sg/about-reinhard-bonnke.html

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke is principally known for his Great Gospel Crusades throughout the Continent of Africa. The son of a pastor, Reinhard gave his life to the Lord at age nine, and heard the call to the African mission field before he was even a teenager. After attending Bible College in Wales, and his ordination in Germany he pastored a church and then went on to start missionary work in Africa. It was there, in the small mountain kingdom of Lesotho, that God placed upon his heart the vision of ‘the continent of Africa, being washed in the precious Blood of Jesus’ — an entire continent, from Cape Town to Cairo and from Dakar to Djibouti that needed to be reached and to hear the proclamation of the signs-following Gospel.

He began holding meetings in a tent that accommodated just 800 people, but, as attendance steadily increased, larger and larger tents had to be purchased, until finally, in 1984, he commissioned the construction of the world’s largest mobile structure — a tent capable of seating 34,000 people! Soon, attendance at his meetings even exceeded the capacity of this huge structure, and he began open-air Gospel Campaigns with an initial gathering of over 150,000 people per service! Since then, he has conducted city-wide meetings across the continent with as many as 1,600,000 people attending a single meeting using towering sound systems that can be heard for miles.

It has now been some thirty-five years since Reinhard Bonnke founded the international ministry of Christ for all Nations (CfaN), which currently has offices in the United States, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Nigeria, South Africa, Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong.

Since the start of the new millennium, through a host of major events in Africa and other parts of the world, the ministry has recorded 55 million documented decisions for Jesus Christ.

As part of the discipleship-training program, 185 million copies of CfaN follow-up literature have been published in 103 languages and printed in 55 countries. Millions of books have been printed and freely ‘seeded’ in nations around the world. All this is in addition to the ‘Reinhard Bonnke School of Fire,’ an online, self-study course, aimed at inspiring others to Holy Spirit Evangelism and leading to either a certificate or university credits.

Reinhard Bonnke is also recognized for hosting ‘Fire Conferences’ in many different countries of the world, events that are aimed at equipping church leaders and workers for evangelism; for distributing over 95,500,000 copies of Minus to Plus, a profound salvation message, to homes around the world; and for seeking every opportunity to reach and to save the lost.

More recently, Bonnke has spent several years developing the ‘Full Flame Film Series,’ a series of eight inspirational films aimed at inspiring and challenging the church to Holy Spirit evangelism.

Evangelist Bonnke is married to Anni, father to Kai-Uwe, Gabrielle, and Susie, and grandfather to eight grandchildren.

Introducing “The Visitation of The Spirit” – a life lived before God

Introducing: Rees Howells: Intercessor (the story of a life lived for God)

“Rees Howells was a man uniquely taught of God who found the key to prevailing prayer, became the channel of a mighty revival in Africa, was taught the principles of divine healing, and progressed even furthur in faith until world events were affected by his prayers.”

Once the Holy Spirit took possession of him in 1906, Rees Howells, a Welsh miner, was led deeply into a ministry of intercession for many situations including healing, conversions and to challenge death at home and abroad on the mission field.

The Visitation of The Spirit (excerpts from the above book) : taken from the following link: http://www.byfaith.co.uk/paulreeshowells.htm (please visit the site and read the whole article of how faith had worked!)

From the time of special dedication on March 29, 1936, when so many of the College, both staff and students, laid their lives on the altar as intercessors, the Spirit was at work in the College.

The climax and consummation came in the New Year of 1937. The following was taken from an account made by Dr. Priddy, a senior staff member.

It was the ‘Pentecost’ of the College, from which emerged not a loosely linked company of consecrated individuals, but a body in the full sense of the term, with one life and one purpose.

‘They wept before God for hours’ As the College approached the new year of 1937 there was an increasing consciousness of God’s presence. The first outward sign that He was working in a new way was when one of the staff broke down in prayer, confessing her sense of need and crying to the Holy Spirit to meet her.

Then we heard how the Holy Ghost had so manifested Himself in the glory of His divine person to some of the girl students, that they wept before Him for hours, broken at the corruption of their own hearts revealed in the light of His holiness.

He did not come like a rushing mighty wind. But gradually the Person of the Holy Ghost filled all our thoughts, His Presence filled all the place, and His light seemed to penetrate all the hidden recesses of our heart.

The revelation of the Holy Spirit’s person was so tremendous that all our previous experience seemed as nothing.

The revelation of The Holy Spirit’s Person was so great, all our previous experience seemed as nothing.’ In the light of His purity, it was not so much sin we saw as self. These were people who left all to follow the Saviour, as far as they were aware their lives were fully surrendered to God. But He showed us, ‘There is all the difference in the world between your surrendered life in My hands and I living in your body.’

The Holy Spirit asked of us our wills and our bodies. Romans 12:1, ‘Present your bodies as a living sacrifice.’ Why did He manifest Himself to us in this way? It was made very clear. It was because there was a work to be done in the world today that only He could do. “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement” John 16:8. No wonder the Master told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they had received the ‘Promise of the Father.’

But when He had come, they were witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. We had put all on the altar for the sake of giving the Gospel to Every Creature. But now the Holy Ghost said, as Jehovah had said to Moses; “I am come down to do it.”

As the days of visitation went on, we were just prostrate at His feet. Now He had come to bring the vision to completion. Even the grounds were filled with His presence. Walking around together we suddenly became conscious that we were speaking in whispers.

‘As the visitation went on, we were just prostrate at His feet.’ The late hours came, but no-one thought of bed – for God was there. Increasingly we looked to the Holy Spirit Himself, poured out on all flesh as Joel prophesied, as the only One by whom the vision He has shown us can be fulfilled, through His prepared channels in all parts of the world.

The fire fell on the sacrifice; the Spirit had sealed for Himself a company of intercessors for Every Creature. We were baptized, as it were, by one Spirit into one body for one God-appointed purpose and this was now one of them. His visitation lasted for some three weeks in this special sense, although praise God, He came to ‘abide’ and has continued with us ever since.”

Intercession, Revival and the Bible College ———————-

About the Bible College: The founders of the Bible College dedicated their lives to be an object lesson to all, of what can be achieved by prayer and faith alone; their aim was to teach men and women that it is safe to trust God’s Word and His promises.

FireBride – walking your path to His glory

FireBride, your God is a consuming fire!
FireBride, your God is a consuming fire!

he watchman was led to pick up this book and when he re-read it he knew he had to recommend it to all Spirit-filled believers who want to respond to the Lord’s call for prayers and intercessions. This is a book that answers a lot of your questions!

Excerpts from FireBride ( a book the watchman recommends to all )

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire . . .   Deut 4:24

For our God is a consuming fire.  Heb 12:29

. . . but He who is coming after me . . . He will baptize you with the Holy  Spirit and with fire.  Matt 3:11

. . . and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather  His wheat unto the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with    unquenchable fire.  Matt 3:12

Our Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever.   Yet too many of us will quickly disregard or draw back from the fact that God is still a consuming fire. Erroneous perceptions and interpretations of the Old Testament God continue to die hard: Those of a cruel and ruthless God eternally enraged standing over His people with some great cosmic club mercilessly waiting to punish.  Today these lying perceptions still remain as one of the biggest subterfuges that Satan ever perpetrated on God’s people.  In addition to this, there is the rebellious and carnal flesh – Satan’s always-present cohort – constantly embellishing the great lie with its self-protecting rationale.  Flesh will always believe it can be Godly without having to deny and crucify its own desires and ways.
Could it be that we have not yet understood one of the greatest and most paradoxical spiritual truths in our lives:  We are walking with a God who really is a consuming fire while simultaneously being consummate love??
That is the ultimate enigma of our God.  He is a God who is eternally and unchangingly a consuming fire while at the same time being perfect and eternal love.  Four words: consuming fire – consummate love.  These four words do more than describe two characteristics and attributes of God.  Scripture tells us they are the very essence of who and what God is (Heb 12:29, 1 John 4:8).
Does it not then follow that God’s consuming fire is also one of consummate love?
Does it not follow as well that such a consuming fire will never destroy even one of our precious promises for which He died?
And does it not also follow that He will consume everything that is not of Him that stands in the way of His ultimate best and highest good for us in fulfilling those promises?

==========
Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego knew Whose fire they were in.   Their belief in their God’s love was as absolute as their faith.  They knew Whose consuming fire was in faultless control.  From a small child each had been taught that the God of Moses, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – their God – was a consuming fire.
They went into the enemy’s fire with their very lives ordered on that belief and the knowledge that He, alone, was in control of how long and how hot He allowed any enemy’s fiery presence – for His purposes – into any situation or circumstance.   They knew from the time that Moses first saw the fiery mountain and beheld the glory of God as a fire which perpetually burns that nothing that is of Him is ever consumed (Ex 3:2).

=========
Every portion and every element of our lives that is of Him – every circumstance, event, deed, word, and attitude that are given in trust and faith to Him – will never be consumed in any fire.  At the same time all those things that are not wholly of Him will be either purged, refined, or consumed.
The Lord is appearing today as never before in the midst of lives as a consuming fire and as a pillar of fire to all who desire to come closer, and with hunger, seeking His voice, His ways and His glory.  And He is just as surely appearing as that same consuming fire to those who do not choose to be involved with a closer walk.

But who can endure the day of His coming?  And who can stand when He appears?  For He is like a refiner’s fire and like the launderers’ [fuller] soap.  Mal 3:2

He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.  Mal 3:3

We know that when the children of Israel presented their offerings on the altar of sacrifice to God, He commanded that it be offered by means of a consuming fire.  Have we lost sight of the fact that enemy fires have no control or authority over our lives since Calvary, unless we yield some portion of our lives to Satan and will not repent?

Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? Rom 6:16

Suffice it to say we find ourselves in too many circumstances and situations in which we yield our members to serve the flesh and/or Satan in some capacity.   In fact, if we have not found ourselves in such dark miry pits far too frequently, a reality check needs to be taken for candor and safeguards against deceptions!
Whatever the situations of the past, our focus has very often centered on and around rebel fires; whether they are the flaming fires of our own fleshy will and desires that have not been daily crucified with Christ, or whether they are fires of the satanic warfare by principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places found in Eph 6:12.  For most of us, however, it is usually a combination.
Enemy fires are a hated but excellent incentive in lives for checking the condition of warfare weapons; prayerfully searching hearts; repenting; forgiving; and becoming stronger and less vulnerable to future attacks because of all that has been learned in previous ones. In short, God uses the enemy for His own purposes in warfare aptitude testing! The triumphant result is that there is less flesh found for the enemy to attack and more of God found to fight and secure complete victory!

. . . for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.  John 14:30

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.   Col 3:3

The problem with the body of Christ is that we have multitudinous occasions where our flesh, alive and well, sticks out from the altar of sacrifice exposing where we are!  But when we become dead to everything except Jesus Christ, the enemy will find nothing in us that is not of Him.
It has become a growing necessity to understand Whose fire we are really in and why.  God is calling His body as never before to focus spiritual eyes intensely and fervently on Him alone.  When we are able to do that, we will begin to recognize that no matter how hot and intense the fire is, He will allow only those things to be consumed that are obstacles and hindrances to our being conformed into His image.
We’re in the Glory Fire!

================
These are times when He continues to open the eyes of our understanding to the reality that it is “the fourth man,” who is walking with us in the midst of our fiery temptations, testings and trials. He still is retaining absolute dominion, power and authority over each and every phase.
It is perhaps most perfectly and flawlessly summed up in just one sentence by Joseph in the book of Genesis when he spoke revelation knowledge by the Spirit regarding all his years of continuous and extraordinary evil that he had lived through:

But as for you (the flesh and Satan) you meant evil against me, but God meant  it for good . . .  Gen 50:20

God would give a striking double enunciation of this eternal pivotal truth through Paul when writing to all who were to come afterward in the Lord’s new dispensation of the New Testament blood covenant.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.  Rom 8:28

The same fiery trials.
The same fiery circumstances.
The same fiery testings.
The same fiery situations.

The only difference was – just like the three Hebrew children – Joseph, like Paul, came to know Whose ultimate fire he was in:

. . . he (Joseph) was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him.  Ps 105:18-19

That is the key.  We are being established in the midst of God’s glory fire that burns off everything in us that is not of Him by strengthening and tempering everything in us that is of Him!!

WE ARE PREPARING THROUGH HIS GLORY FIRE TO BECOME HIS FIRBRIDE!

This book was given to the watchman a few years back by another intercessor. One day the intercessor walked pass some book shelves and the Lord told her to lay hand on a section and this book came out. The Lord also told her to give it to the watchman. So the intercessor obeyed.

The book came out two days ago as the watchman. Here are the contents and the Lord’s questions for many of us to answer today!

EXCERPTS FROM CINDY JACOB’S FORWARD (about the author of FireBride):

“… has earned the right to teach on the fire of God. She was totally blind when she was a young girl, and God healed her. She has walked in the fire of the corporate world and supervised eighteen hundred employees. Through the years God has used her prophetic gift and wisdom both to the pulpit ministry and behind closed doors to teach His leaders.”

“The greatest glory fire came in her life in 1987 when she suffered two strokes within twenty four hours of each other, which damaged more than fifty percent of her brain. Since that time God has miraculously restored her mind and memory and, as evidenced by this book, her ability to communicate.”

“She has also entered into a depth of intercession during this period of time that few understand.”

“Be prepared for transformation as you enter these pages. No one can read FireBride without going on a spiritual journey. I pray that God will use it in your life, as He has in mine, to burn off bondages and loose you into a measure of knowing Him you have never experienced before.”
