How to get prayers answered ? e.g. raising the dead (two live cases: one lived, one died)

I shall give two live cases I have seen first hand. One passed and another failed. I do not have all the answers. I shall only say what I can recall and what were done at the time when the events occurred. My belief is “don’t limit God”. I also believe that often we do not know all the details nor all the reasons and may never know them until we meet the Lord face to face one day. When we are asked to pray for others, we just do it by faith, the faith of the Son of God Himself in us. (Galatian 2:20 KJV) Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (NKJV)

The followings are based on recall and may not contain the exact details due to them being events that occurred over a decade ago.

First case: one evening while worshipping around 8pm, in a small prayer house service the visiting pastor was suddenly told that one of the worship team trainee (a former drug addict newly released from a drug rehabilitation center), a man in his thirties, was found unconscious in a room at the back of the church. It was believed that he had taken an lethal overdose of methadone. Large amounts of methadone can slow or stop a person’s breathing, which is the number one cause of overdose. Suppressed breathing patterns also limit the amount of oxygen that reaches the brain, which can result in coma, brain damage, or death. By the time he was found he manifested hardly any pulse, dead cold body, grey and bluish skin, eyes “fixed and dilated”, and in a coma. There were vomits in his mouth, nostril, and possibly his lung. A calculation of the time he had disappeared (not been seen), showed that he had possibly been in that critical condition for about two hours. The wife made a decision that she wanted prayers to “resurrect” and restore him to full functioning without calling the ambulance to take him to a public hospital. They had a nine year old daughter, two twin boys of six, and a one-week old infant. They were homeless and the prayer house had accommodated them in the empty living quarters. The wife is educated and knows what she has decided. She wanted a husband with no brain damage or any other deformity. She asked for a miracle. He was moved to the worship hall. The visiting pastor, and many of those who attended the worship service stayed back to pray and proclaim the words, as led by the Holy Spirit. All the unclean stuff started to flow out of his mouth and soaked two large bath towels. By around 1am he was revived. On the third day he was able to get up and sit with the worshippers, read the Bible, and prayed with them. He was back to normal functioning within a week. The wife’s wish was granted.

Case two: An elderly man and his wife came to the prayer house to ask to stay for the weekend and take part in the worship service and prayer. They said that he had very serious and painful illness and gone through all sorts of treatments and there was no more medical cure. They took part in the services and were in peace and joy most of the time. On the third day morning the wife said she had to go out “shopping” and left him basking in the sun on the patio. He passed away peacefully while dozing off. The wife was contacted and returned immediately. She was asked whether she wanted prayers for him to be raised from death. She said ok. So prayers were made for him. However after sometime two brethren had revelations in words and vision from the Lord that the departed man did not want to come back to life. So they asked the wife again whether she really wanted him to return. Then she told them that he had already told her and said goodbye that morning and prepared her for his leaving soon. And she submitted to his will. She did not realize that he actually passed on before she returned from the market.

Looking back, there were many cases which we still do not know why some were healed and some were not. We continue to share resources on divine healing and encourage one another to have a close relationship with the Lord, trust His words, and be led by the Holy Spirit. Living divine is a lifelong practice, like running a course which finish line is at the time when we meet Jesus face to face. Meanwhile we just stay on course and keep our focus on Him, the beginner and finisher of our faith race.

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Matthew 11:5 The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Hebrews 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again.

1 Corinthians 15:12 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
